The Galactic Milieu books were written after the Saga of the Exiles, but concieved before. The books follow the story of how one family influences Earth's acceptance in to the Milieu and the evolution of the human mind within it. Above all else it is the story of two brothers; Marc and Jack, who grow to be powerful oponents as the Milieu is dragged towards a war it does not want.

The four book arc comprises:

Magnificat

The story is told in retrospect by Uncle Rogi; the oldest surviving member of the Remillard family. Through his story we witness the growth of technology and philospohy set in a very human context, as the Earth is first acepted into the Milieu of races then very nearly destroy it. Through it all is interwoven the story of Remillards, whose internal struggles and torments are mirrored in the changing world around them.
