About Me

I grew up in the Midlands and often it seemed I did everything I could to get away from the place. I’ve worked in Europe, Malaysia, South Africa, India and the US yet strangely I finally settled down in Tamworth, just North of Birmingham in the UK around 40 minutes drive from where I was born.

My work takes me around the UK and I don’t find travelling the chore so many others do. Of course I’d rather be doing something more productive but watching the countryside roll by is something everyone should enjoy.

I’m 45 which means that I left school when computers were the size of your average living room and ‘cut and paste’ meant using a craft knife and some glue. I sold my first artwork (a cartoon to the Weekly News) before leaving school and have never looked back. There are few design fields I haven’t worked in, from Shop Display and Print through to Digital Video and Multimedia, with so many in between it would bore me and you to list them.

I’m now married and have two young sons who are the reason I get up in the morning and come home at night. If you’ve a family you’ll understand that, if you don’t it will seem simply alien to you – it was to me too for a long time – but you’ll get it eventually.

What little spare time I have goes in to my pastimes of Creative Writing, I’ve had a few scripts optioned by the BBC in the past and a few short-stories published, and my hobbies of photography and movies, though sadly it’s more watching than making anymore. I’m a science aficionado, with a fascination for both Cosmology and Quantum Physics and of course for the more human sciences of psychology and social interaction.

I’m always open to new experiences and am largely self-taught; it is a firm belief I hold that the moment you stop enjoying learning is the moment you stop enjoying life.
